Back for a Moment. 09 Jan 2012

Obviously, I am slightly late, but I wish the one or two of you that follow me at best a happy 2012. A rather good friend of mine, named Jace, has told me to give my thoughts on bad things.

Now I’m not absolutely sure what he meant by this, but I didn’t ask so that I could have total creative freedom.

As a whole, a compared to some, my life is relatively problem free, save for a few key personal things. My school life, however, is quite problem ridden, and while these things tend to happen quite often, I have a few things I do and keep in mind while these bad things are happening.

I have seven friends. My closest ones, anyway. Other than those seven, the other, say, thirty, are guys. Because of this, for my first year of middle school, I was rumored to be a lesbian.

Now let me clear this up. I have absolutely NO problems with people of bi- or homosexuality. And I also don’t give a damn horse’s ass what other people think of me. But when these quite untrue rumors began to push these guy friends away, I began to have a problem.

So, by telling you this, I want to skip over all the gory details and just tell you how it ended.

I lost fifty percent of those friends and haven’t talked to them since.

Ninety-five percent of that fifty percent tried to apologize for believing the rumors when they were figured to be untrue.

My thinking:

If these boys ditched me when I was rumored to be a lesbian, they obviously did not like me for me.

What’s the point of having friends that don’t like you?

My point is that bad things happen to teach you things and help you to experience things better in the future. Everything happens for a reason, and that reason is to teach you things about and for the future. I keep this in mind when awful things are happening, and while it doesn’t necessarily make me feel any better, it makes it a lot easier to swallow.

Sorry for the little advice I could give. Jace, my advice for you. Love you, and good night.
